What should you look for when buying a beginner DSLR?

Image Quality:

A mirrorless camera should have excellent image quality, so make sure you read reviews and watch videos before buying.

Some mirrorless cameras offer better low light performance which is crucial when shooting in dark settings without the use of flash.

Battery Life:

A camera with a powerful battery will allow for more shots to be taken and less worry about being tethered to an outlet or car charger.

Kit lens: If you’re new to DSLR cameras, a kit lens will provide everything you need for your first few years as a photographer.

Take some time to research which kit lens is best for your needs, but many prefer Sony’s 18-55mm f/35 zoom because it offers a great range and has modern features like optical image stabilization.

CMOS Sensor:

The CMOS sensor is the most important part of any camera for beginners.

It stores light and converts it to digital information, which then gets processed by other components like a DSLR chip or an image processor.

A lower resolution will allow your photos to have more detail whereas higher resolutions are best when you’re cropping images for printing on large format paper sizes such as 11×14″ or 16×20″.

Sensor size:

The larger the sensor, the better low-light performance can be achieved.

A mirrorless camera with a full frame sensor offers remarkable high ISO performance without some of the noise that may result from using smaller sensors in less expensive cameras.

What type?

The type of DSLR camera you should buy depends on what kind of photography you’re interested in. There are three types:

Mirrorless cameras have sensors that mirror the size and shape of a 35mm film frame, offer interchangeable lenses, but usually do not allow for side access to buttons or controls.

They use batteries more efficiently (meaning they don’t need as much charging) than other types because there is less hardware powering them.

In contrast, SLRs typically offer high image quality at an affordable price point thanks to their full mirror design which reflects light through the lens directly into your sensor.

This means it’s easier to change out different lenses if necessary. However, these cameras require considerably more power since they rely heavier on their mirror design.

Compact cameras are the most affordable option, but they typically offer poor image quality and battery life in comparison to other types of DSLRs.

As it turns out, there’s no single best camera for beginners across all categories. The type you should pick will depend on your budget, what features you need (if any), and your personal preferences as a photographer.

In order to make the process easier though, we’ve narrowed down some advice based on these criteria:

What Is Mirrorless And What Are Its Benefits?

Mirrorless cameras are more affordable in comparison to DSLRs because they use a mirror-less design that doesn’t rely on as many moving parts.

The major draw for these types of cameras is their size and weight, which are considerably less than traditional models.

Sensor: this means it’s easier to change out different lenses if necessary. However, these cameras require considerably more power since they rely heavier on their mirror design.

Compact digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera: the least expensive option but offers poorer image quality and battery life due to its compact form factor; perfect for beginners who don’t need high performance features like autofocus or optical zoom yet want something smaller than a traditional DSLR body

Large-sensor compact digital camera: offers a more powerful sensor in a smaller body for photographers who want to use interchangeable lenses without the bulk of traditional DSLR

DSLR mirrorless camera: these cameras offer an image quality that is comparable to their mirror-based counterparts while being considerably lighter and less expensive.

They’re also great options if you don’t want to compromise on size or weight, but need better performance than what’s offered from compacts

Mirrorless full frame DSLRs: these are popular because they provide high image quality with features like autofocus and optical zoom at a fraction of the cost.

However, this type of camera requires one additional step when changing out lenses due to its design.

Camera lens kit: no matter which DSLR mirrorless camera you purchase, it’s important to have a kit of lenses that will be compatible with your new camera.

A lens kit will include an 18-55mm zoom lens and either a 50mm prime or any other type of telephoto lens in order for you to capture everything from wide landscapes to close-ups

Camera cleaning fluid: no matter how careful we try to be during photography sessions —especially when it comes to the lens—it’s important for photographers to have a cleaning fluid handy so they can clean their lenses at home or on-the-go.

Key takeaway points about mirrorless cameras are as follows:

These provide high image quality but require one additional step when changing out lenses due to its design.

A lens kit will include an 18 – 55mm zoom lens and either a 50mm prime or any other type of telephoto lens in order for you

The Pros and Cons of DSLRs:

  • They’re a great option for those who want the ability to change lenses
  • They’re also heavier and take up more space in the bag.
  • One additional step in changing lenses is required but these cameras have a smaller footprint so they can be easily placed into a carry on or larger purse.
  • With mirrorless camera, you’ll find that it’s easier to change from wide angle to telephoto lens as well as having increased image quality with less noise (e.g., red eye) since the sensor is closer to the lens mount than with DSLR models.

Canon or Nikon?

That’s the thing about cameras. You never know whether they’re going to be good until you try them for yourself, so it might be worth taking a trip to your local camera store and trying out as many models as possible before buying anything. Now lets go to the reviews of each we’ve selected

Canon EOS 200D II

Entry-level EOS 200D is the best way to get started in photography. One of my favorites is the 200D, which I would recommend for people who enjoy getting creative with their shots and want a camera that can do it all!.

The image quality on this model is one of its strongest features – you won’t be disappointed by what your pictures look like when you edit them later either because jpeg or raw files both come out looking great.

If you want to take short videos or create movies, the EOS 200D is a perfect DSLR for beginners.

With easy controls and an excellent vari-angle screen on the back of its body in addition with great battery life, it’s obvious why this camera would be one of your best options when looking for a digital SLR that will meet all your needs!

The EOS 200D is a great beginner DSLR camera. It’s easy to use for anyone new to photography with its simple controls and minimum noise in the photos taken.

The images can be cropped without losing any quality, which makes it excellent if you’re not looking for high-quality shots.

The 4K video is a great selling point, but there are some limitations to the camera. The crop factor in 4K mode means that your angle of view becomes narrower with the lens – only being able to record 8 seconds at a time before having to move on.

However, 1080p videos get duel pixel auto focus which will help you out tremendously if it’s important for catching all those small details!

Nikon D5600

The Nikon D5600 is a powerhouse of photography equipment. It has an ultra fast focus that will make you feel like your camera can’t keep up with the action in front or behind it.

And when images are captured they’re professional quality without even trying! The Professional modes give users more control over their photos than ever before, making them go beyond expectations.

For those who don’t need to take shots through long distances (70-300mm), there’s no better option for any photographer on the market right now.

This electronic masterpiece offers so much at such an affordable price. And if all that wasn’t enough already:

You can use this device remotely through Wi-Fi or download images directly onto your phone via Bluetooth/WiFi, making it the most versatile digital SLR you’ll ever own.

The variangle touchscreen display allows easy navigation of menus and settings so that even beginners feel at home using such high quality equipment like never before!

Sony Alpha ILCE 600Y

Sony Alpha ILCE 600Y is a great camera that got me hooked since day one.

Excellent auto focus, especially in low light! You get everything what’s needed to start your photography journey including a 16-50mm lens, 32GB memory card & even a bag!!

Sony Alpha 6000 is a great camera that has amazing picture quality, fast autofocus and high fps speed.

It can easily beat canon 80d quality whose price is much higher than this one.

It’s durable for bird photography or sports too! The only problem we see with it in terms of the battery life but besides that this generation DSLR can compete against other cameras.

It shoots at 11 fps, so it captures those special moments that happen quickly without missing a beat and can still take 350+ shots before running out of juice!.

Fujifilm X-T200

I was blown away by this camera when I saw it on sale. For such a low price, you get so much more than what’s expected of an entry-level model. With its 15-45 mm lens and portrait mode for candid photography, there isn’t any limit to your creativity with this one!

The 16 GB SDHC memory card is perfect for all those selfies that can be taken in high quality too!

Plus if you’re looking for something small but easy to hold or lightweight then have no fear because these features are available as well – just pick out whichever colour option suits your mood best: black leather finish, silver metallic frame?

There’s not much to tell about this model. This is one of the best DSLR cameras for beginners in India.

it’s so easy to use and has been well known around the world as having a reliable battery life that lasts long enough for even those late night shoots.

The Vari Angle Touchscreen is a great choice for shooting high-quality 4K video vlogging films.

This touchscreen offers you two options to help make your videos more engaging, as well as easier and faster than ever before with Face Eye AF technology!

The camera kit includes everything you need to start taking amazing photos. It comes with a DSLR and lens, as well as 16 gigabytes of memory card storage so you can take tons of pictures before running out!

Panasonic DMC-G85H Lumix G

the Panasonic DMC-G85H Lumix G is a great camera for its price. The lens that it comes with isn’t good for indoor photography but you can purchase the 25mm 1.7 prime panasonic lens along with it and be all set!

It’s perfect if your looking to take videos, I wouldn’t recommend this as much of a photographer though since there are better cameras out there in my opinion.

Most cameras are heavy and bulky, so to keep the weight down ibis offers a light-weight camera that is easy for travel.

This slim design also makes it possible to take photos without having any extra battery packs or chargers on hand. That being said, I find that the g85h doesn’t have any extra battery space included in the kit.

It might be helpful if they are already included in the camera kit purchase? Camera and lens, battery and charger (if needed), camera strap, memory card & bag.

It doesn’t have slow mo and max is capped at 60 fps.

But it’s worth every penny if you’re looking for something professional grade! However very expensive so probably not best choice for beginners. Unless you want your friends or family members who happen to be photographers buying them one on their behalf ;)

But again, I’m going more towards what I can do with the camera and not what a high-end model offers.

How to take care of your DSLR camera?

  • Be careful with dust, dirt, water etc., Make sure to keep it dry when you’re not using it.
  • Get a good quality lens that suits what you want to shoot (if possible) because they can be expensive.
  • Don’t store your DSLR Camera in extreme temperatures as this will cause its functions to diminish over time and lead to damage.
  • If something goes wrong with the battery then get rid of it ASAP or else there is risk of explosion! I have seen a few youtube videos of people’s cameras exploding which is scary.
  • If it is your first time, then use a cheap lens so that if you’re not sure about DSLR cameras and photography in general, then there’s no financial harm done.
  • Always have backups of all the photos on a SD card or laptop (preferably both) to avoid losing everything!.
  • TIP: It is advisable to buy an external hard drive for storing images because they are cheaper than buying one with high memory space.

More Useful Tips:

The camera body itself does matter as well; some features will be better suited to certain types of shoots – Read reviews before making any purchases!

If you’re on a budget, then it is best to buy only the most important features that are needed for your type of photography – The cheapest DSLR cameras often sacrifice image quality; try and find something in the middle if possible

Make sure to buy a lens that is compatible with your camera; for example, if you have an APS-C sensor DSLR then the lenses will be different from those of full frame cameras – The focal length tells you how wide or narrow it captures the photo. Bear in mind this is also affected by what type of zoom lens is being used (i.e., optical vs digital).

You should look at buying one good quality prime as opposed to two cheaper zooms where sacrificing image quality can happen because they are covering more ranges than just one specific range of focus.

Final words

The best camera to buy depends on how you intend to use it. If you are a beginner or intermediate photographer, then the mirrorless cameras might be your best choice.

There is no doubt that digital SLRs produce better results than mirrorless cameras;

However, if portability and weight isn’t an issue for you – those of which come with some caveats – they still have their benefits.

With these types of cameras there is less chance that dust will get inside due to not having a reflex mirror like DSLRs do (though this can happen too).

Mirrorless cameras also usually offer more lens selection from manufacturers because there’s been greater demand over the years leading up to today versus DSLRs which have been on the market for much longer.

In general, mirrorless cameras are lighter and smaller than DSLR counterparts with a lens attached.

And while some of them can take photos at night without an issue – due to having higher resolutions allowing more light into the sensor .

others might struggle if there’s low available lighting so only try those out if your intention is specifically nighttime photography. Battery life also tends to be shorter but typically still lasts long enough .

For those hoping to save money, I recommend buying used or second hand cameras online through olx or ebay.

Be sure though before purchasing anything you read reviews from other buyers about any negative aspects they may have discovered during their purchase process.
